About Us
A Unique Setting
We Overlook Vancouver’s Industrial Waterfront

We are one of the oldest community gardens on Vancouver’s East Side.
We enjoy a unique and fabulous setting, overlooking the Port of Vancouver in Wall Street’s Cambridge Park.
We were founded in 1999 by local residents Jan and Janet, who wanted to strengthen community ties in our surrounding—and neglected—Forgotten Triangle neighborhood.
For a quarter century now, we have continued to believe strongly in the power of friendship and human connection to resist the isolation and alienation promoted by elites.
We also strongly support Reconciliation with our Indigenous neighbors and have always encouraged and invited Indigenous participation in the garden.
In recent years, we have also focussed on broadening our contribution to the neighborhood. We have improved community gardening opportunities and now provide free and fresh produce to our Forgotten Triangle neighbors.
Always we are guided by our founding vision:
“We are a community building a community….We will be an oasis for plants, animals, insects and people.”
